The first, "Dödsbo", comes from notebooks found in apartments in Sweden, cleared out after someone died with nobody to claim them. The next will be a different story.

Emma Eidevik is twenty-seven and Swedish. She doesn't write. She sings what other people wrote, which is why her voice sounds older than she is: the words aren't hers. There is no discovery story, no stage, no crowd. She is a drawn character, and the recordings are made with AI. They are deliberately unpolished: the voice cracks on the high notes, the breath is audible, nothing is corrected.

She is never photographed, because there is nothing to photograph. Emma is drawn and the world around her is not: the rooms, the windows, the desk, the eraser in her hand are all photographs, and she is the only thing in the frame that was painted. She doesn't belong to those rooms, and the picture says so before the song does.

"Mount Qaf" is the first single and stands on its own. It is about the old days: the people you used to sit with, the conversations, the loves you can't get back. Mount Qaf is the mountain from the old stories that nobody reaches, and here it stands for a time you can't return to. The song ends by insisting that somewhere there is still a place where people look into each other's eyes.

The first album is called "Dödsbo" and is still being made. Every album is one story; this one comes from notebooks found in apartments in Sweden, cleared out after someone died with nobody to claim them. The furniture went to charity, the rest went to a skip. The notebooks would have gone with it.

The next album will be a different story. Emma stays; the rooms change.

The lyrics are written by a person. The voice, the recordings and the images are made with AI, and this is stated wherever the music appears.
Emma is always drawn, never photographed. The rooms she stands in are photographs. There is no photorealistic image of her anywhere, and there never has been one that stands.
The character is written the way a character in a novel is written: with a biography, a place, a way of standing. That is the point of her, not something to be discovered.

How the pictures are made

Every picture of Emma is made with AI. That doesn't mean it is made quickly. First the room is generated, empty. Then Emma is painted into it from one fixed drawing, and she is not allowed to change: not her face, not her hair, not the grey sweater. Most attempts fail exactly there.

Around 250 images are kept on file for the handful shown here, and many more were never kept. The references came first, the rules were written down, and every picture was checked against them before it stayed. The words are written by a person.
